Zoya Intimate Collection 2011

Ah Spring collections are coming out, which means Spring is somewhat near. I am sick of Winter. I hate the cold weather since I get sick very easy. I lost count of how many times I got sick this Winter -_- I actually starting to feel a little better from being sick for two weeks.

Today I have the Zoya Intimate Collection for Spring 2011. I noticed a lot of spring collection consists of gray-ish soft nude tones. The Intimate Collection consists of 6 gorgeous colors. Take a look:

Danni - a purple shimmer with gold and pinkish shimmers. This one is so gorgeous, I love it. Two coats

Jules - a taupey shimmer mixed with golden shimmers. Looks dull in my picture but in person it's stunning! Two coats

Caitlin - a gray creme with purple tones. Looks semi-blue in my pic but it's really purple. 2 coats

Dove - like its name, it is a dove gray creme. 2 coats

Marley - a light lavender creme with gray tones. Two coats

Gemma - an olive green creme with purple shimmer duo-chrome. Two coats. I loved this one and wish the purple shimmer showed more in my picture. But there's like absolutely no sun and that's why I hate Winter!!

Overall I think this collection is awesome. The colors are gorgeous. And the formula is perfect as usual. I had no streaks and no problems with the semi-metallic foil finishes and the cremes applied wonderfully. I loved all the colors, not a single one I didn't like, which I love because I know I spent my money on the right products. I hate when I buy polishes and the colors are disappointing.

My favorites do happen to be Gemma and Danni. Those two stood out the most for the collection. What's your favorites?

That's all I have for today!

Illamasqua Spam

Greetings all! I finally finished swatching most of my untried Illamasqua brand polishes. And since I haven't updated for awhile, what else is better than an Illamasqua spam post?

Jo'mina is a bright lilac creme. It's a little similar to Color Club's Puccilicious but I feel that Jo'mina is lighter than Puccilicious.

Jo'mina over Prism. Prism came with the collection with Jo'mina and Force. I love how prism gives it a blue iridescent glow

Force is a bright royal blue creme 2 coats

Prism over Force again it gives this glowy look that I like

Hectic is a deep olive green creme. 2 coats

Phallic is a blackened blue with blue flecks of shimmer. 2 coats

Smash is a semi-neon green creme. It's not neon enough to have that neon glow but it sure is bright enough. 2 coats

Jan is a muted gray pink creme. 2 coats

Velocity is a gray rosey mauve. A little hard to describe this color.. 2 coats

Elope is your true mean green creme. 2 coats

I've always loved Illamasqua nail polishes, that's why I bought so many even though they retail for $14 a bottle. Some cost me more because I bought them from which costs me international shipping. What I love most is how heavily pigmented these polishes are. They were pretty opaque in one coat, but I did all two coats for even coverage.

Every color seen on this post here are available at except Velocity, Smash, Hectic, and Elope. Those four are available at

Well that's all I have for today!

2 year blog Anniversary

So I just realized that today marks two years since I've started this blog. I can't believe it's been two years already. I started off with just two readers; my two friends. And now I have over 700 followers. I really appreciate my readers taking their time to read my blog.

I must admit that at some point I was going to quit this blog, but seeing comments of readers enjoying my swatches and reviews made me continue it.

I will be having a giveaway for my blog anniversary. I just didn't have time to set it up. I was going to take some polishes from my stash that I don't want and make a giveaway. Maybe I'll do something different I do not know yet.

I will be having a one week break from work beginning of February so hopefully then I will organize a giveaway.

So let me just give a big thanks to my readers, you guys make me happy :)

Stay tune for the giveaway!

Revlon, Sally Hansen, and Misa

Sigh I know I've been slacking on updating. But it's really hard to update as much or swatch like I used to. Work sucks :(

So today I have four swatches to show:

Below: Sally Hansen nail growth in Gentle Blossom

Gentle blossom is a mint pastel green with silver flecks of shimmer. I was extremely annoyed with this polish. The formula was quite thick and with the brush its hard to work with. I don't know if anyone else had the same problem as I did but it took forever to dry. I let it dry for 10 minutes with seche vite top coat. And then I didn't do anything for half an hour. Then I decided to go out to buy groceries. I put my gloves on, and at the supermarket I took off my gloves and the polishes were smudged all over the place -_-

Below: Revlon Top Speed in Royal Navy

Royal Navy is well a royal navy creme. The whole collection didn't strike me at first. I then started to see many swatches of royal navy and thought I gotta have it. It was the last one at Target so I got lucky :) The formula was a bit tricky. These are "top speed" so they dry quite fast so it was hard to get an even coat. This was under two coats, and I had to work fast before it dries up.

Below: Misa Radiant

Radiant is a pearly aqua mint creme shimmer. Slight duochrome with gold hints. Very pretty.

Below: Misa Embroidered Emerald

Embroidered Emerald is Orly's Galaxy Girl's sister but not twin sister. They both have the same duochrome affect with the brownish plum base and turquoise shimmer.

Well that's all I have for today, I'll try to update as much as possible! Forgive me :)

ORLY Meringue and Comparisons

Today I have ORLY's Meringue to show. I got this polish as a mistake. I originally ordered Golden Halo but they sent me this. But I didn't bother contacting them because they sent this to me for free since there was a mistake on my order. I don't want to be an annoying customer haha

Meringue is a white pearl with hints of golden pink shimmer. 3 coats

I know that right off the bat, it seems like Orly Meringue is a dupe for Chanel's Pearl Drop. That is why I did a comparison for you guys to show their SLIGHT differences.

Here are the bottles side by side which looks pretty similar

And side by side comparison. Can you tell the difference?

Here it is in under natural light

Index and Ring = Chanel Pearl Drop
Middle and Pinky = Orly Meringue

The only difference from my perspective is that Orly's Meringue has more of a pink gold shimmer while Chanel's Pearl Drop has only a white shimmer. But you can barely tell the difference unless you looks very closely.

What do you guys think?

Well that's all I have for today!

OPI DS Original

I scheduled this post to be posted at 11:11 on 1/11/11. Haha I'm such a dork -_-

So today I have OPI Designer Series Original to show. I love their Designer Series because of the holo but it seems to me that their recent collections are not holos at all. Which is a slight disappointment. And being that a lot of the older DS holos are discontinued and hard to get your hands on.

I was happy that I found DS Original, so I quickly purchased it right away.

DS Original is a lilac purple holo which is pretty gorgeous. It seems a little similar to Milani's Hi-Res but I like this one more because it's more holo and shows more purple.

Oh dearest OPI, please make more holos for the future DS collections. It will fulfill us nail fanatic's dreams :)

That's all I have for today!

4 Nfu-Oh Swatches

I've purchased these four Nfu-Oh polishes probably last year and didn't get to swatch till now. I love Nfu-Oh polishes especially for their flakies. Which I think all nail polish brands should make more of!

66 is a slight green holo. It's more of a silver holo but it has hints of green. 3 coats

56 is a green flakies with hints of blue. This was two coats over 569.

55 is a light green flakie with hints of gold flakies. The flakies is kinda weak here, it doesn't pop out so this one was kind of boring for me. Plus it was very sheer, this was under 4 coats

569 is a dark green jelly. This was suppose to be a dupe for NARs Zulu and I think it's pretty similar, and might be even better. This was 2 coats

I'm looking forward to purchase more Nfu-Oh polishes in the future, especially their holos. I got these at They retail for $12.50 a bottle which I think its some what worth it since no other brands make as much flakies as them. Not to mention the bottle is so cute :)

Well that's all I have for today!

Chanel Les Perles de Chanel Collection Spring 2011

Hey ya'll! I know it's been awhile since I've updated. I think I will do my swatchings on weekends and schedule some posts up so I won't be so behind on updating. Now that I'm officially done with college, I'm working more days and don't have much time to do my nails. Quite a little frustrating if you ask me, I don't know how some of you who work full time and can update regularly. Props to you ladies :D

So today I have the new Chanel Spring 2011 collection call Les Perles de Chanel. This collection has 3 nail lacquers that are really gorgeous. Take a look:

Black Pearl represents a true black pearl. Blackish gray with a hint of green shimmer. Very gorgeous. This was under two coats

Pearl Drop is a white pearl with hint of golden shimmer. Three coats. A lot of people liked this polish saying it is beautiful and I agree. It's such a gorgeous white.

Peche Nacree is a pearly peach with hints of shimmer. 3 coats. Very girly and pretty.

I loved this whole collection. All three colors are gorgeous and wearable for any occasions. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like the formula for Chanel has improved drastically. I had no issues during application aside from a few visible brush strokes for black pearl, but once it was dry you can barely tell. It wasn't thick and gooey like their previous polishes, it was pretty smooth. Is Chanel improving their formula? Probably.

These retail at $25 a bottle and available at I really don't like the price increase for these because $25 for a bottle of nail polish is just a little ridiculous. That's the most I will ever pay for a polish. Although it's not made of gold, I do however feel that these are gorgeous. Perhaps drugstore brands will make dupes for them :)

That's all I have for today!

Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Laced Up

I have the new Sally Hansen Salon effects to show today in Laced Up. It was the only one I bought since it was $9.99 at CVS.

It comes with 16 strips and supposedly lasts up to 10 days. I, however, took it off the next day. I'll explain why in a bit. Here's a picture of the box.

And below are the contents inside the box: it comes with instruction sheet, cuticle stick, and a filer

I thought it would be easy to apply on, but it's a bit tricky. At least for me. It was very hard for me to find a perfect size for my nails so I had to cut some, which caused it to be a little uneven.

Below is the finished look:

I love the design and everything. But the problem is that I followed the instructions very carefully. I swiped my nails with polish remover one last time to make sure no residue is left. Yet the bottom part near my cuticles still didn't stick properly causing scratches and hair getting stuck in there (I like running my fingers through my hair a lot lol)

I thought putting a top coat on it would help and I used the cuticle stick to push it down but that still didn't help.

The whole application process took about 7 minutes. With the filing and measuring and cutting etc. I rather apply nail polish and stuff. But I guess it's mostly for the designs.

They had plenty of designs but only this one caught my eye, as I always wanted to do/try lacey nails. Maybe I'll try the real one next time :)

That is all I have for today!
