I did not know about the brand of Julep until one day I went to Sephora and saw their polishes. I didn't purchase any because I wanted to read reviews about their formula because buying any colors. So I went home and did some research and found out that they have a monthly subscription called Julep Maven for $19.99 per month. I've decided to give it a try since I always wanted to try these monthly beauty subscriptions and what's best to start off with other than nail polish? Well I took the quiz, and my results were the "IT girl" Maven box.
What I like about the Julep Maven subscription is that I can skip a month if I don't like the contents in the monthly box, or I can even try the other boxes that might interest me.
IT Girl Welcome Box
My Welcome box came with three polishes; Leah, Helena, and Melissa.
Leah is a bright spring green with silver shimmers. 2 coats
Helena is a vibrant neon like purple. 2 coats
Melissa is a sheer pearl with flashes of teal. 3 coats
Melissa over black
Melissa over Leah
Melissa over HelenaNow not only does Julep have monthly subscriptions, they also have mystery boxes that you can get a discount for $19.99 with codes posted on their FaceBook.
Spring Mystery Box
I didn't know what was going to be in the Mystery box (hence mystery box) but I've decided to give it a try. I actually was one of the few lucky ones that received a gift certificate. So my mystery box contained 3 polishes; Anne, Hayden, and Melissa (again) and a nail filer.
Anne is a pretty medium purple creme. 2 coats
Hayden is a bright peachy creme. 2 coats
Melissa over Anne
Melissa over Hayden
IT Girl May Box
Consisted of three polishes; Nessa, Ashley, and Kylie. Along with a make-up bag (not shown)
Nessa is a golden yellow shimmer. 2 coats
Ashley is a golden orange shimmer. 2 coats
Kylie is a purple magnetic polish. 2 coats
Here is a picture of the magnet. I thought there was a layer I needed to rip but I was wrong, hence it looks like that lol
Cinco de Mayo Mystery Box
Since I received a gift certificate, I decided to try their mystery boxes again. The Cinco de Mayo mystery box had three polishes; Amy, Gloria, and Vanessa. It also had a glass nail filer, and a hand scrub.
Amy is a kind of like a dusty light teal blue creme. 2 coats
Ashley is a burnt orange creme. 2 coats
Vanessa is a holographic glitter with clear base so I did it over Ashley.
Vanessa over Amy
Julep June Mystery Box
Contains Maggie, Alyson, and Marisa (also a base coat and a top coat)
Maggie is a dark purple shimmer. 2 coats
Alyson is a camel beige creme. 2 coats
Marisa is a dark navy shimmer. 2 coats
I skipped June's Maven box because the colors didn't interest me.
IT Girl July Maven Box
Contains Daphne, Kate, Mila, and America the Beautiful
Daphne is a dusty turquoise creme. 2 coats
Kate is a white creme with a VERY slight pearly finish. 2 coats
Mila is a multicolored glitter in a clear base. Here is one coat over Kate
America the Beautiful has red micro glitters, chunky blue and silver glitters, and some star shapes. I did this over a wine red. The stars were hard to fish out, and when I did, the chunk glitters covers most of them. This was my July 4th mani.
Phew! What a long post!!
Now the formula for these were excellent, that is why I've spent such money on these polishes. Considering the fact that their polishes retail for $14 a bottle. $19.99 for 3 polishes is not really a bad deal. It's great for nail polish junkies, and the best thing is you can skip if you don't like the contents in the polish. You can also cancel any time. I haven't had any bad experience with Julep and I hope it remains that way. The only bad thing is you have to skip on a certain day or else you'll get charge for it and get something you don't want.
Julep Maven subscriptions is available HERE. And I believe you can get your welcome box for only ONE cents if you google some coupon for it.
I hope I didn't bore any of you guys with this long post!

I love Daphne and Leah! :-)
