OPI Launches the San Francisco Collection for Fall/Winter 2013

EDIT: The pictures of the polishes weren't loading, but it's fixed now and should load! I apologize for that error.

Summer is not even here yet, but we already have preview for OPI's Fall/Winter collection and it looks promising!

San Francisco by OPI brings street chic style with West Coast flair to nails and toes for Fall/Winter 2013. This new collection features a palette ranging from sky and sea-colored hues of blues and gray to reds, burgundies and browns inspired by some of the city’s most iconic elements – Chinatown, the Golden Gate bridge and the Embarcadero. This fall mélange is mixed with texture, seen in three new Liquid Sand™ nail lacquers in earthy hues of taupe, blue and gray: It’s All San Andreas’s Fault, Wharf! Wharf! Wharf! and Alcatraz…Rocks. Liquid Sand lacquers dry to a textured, matte finish, infused with reflective sparkle.
“To me, the women of San Francisco and the city itself really epitomize today’s multifaceted beauty consumer,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “San Francisco offers a European flair with distinct West Coast attributes. These elements inspired a collection of urban chic nail lacquer shades, thanks to the sophisticated combination of high fashion and eclectic street style.
“With twelve colors ranging from moody grays and blues to garnet and ruby jewel tones, these lacquers are designed to accessorize fall’s hottest looks, from military details to winter whites,” continues Weiss-Fischmann. “On fall runways, models were seen wearing luxurious textures from head to toe. The three new Liquid Sand nail lacquers incorporate the texture trend through nails, with rich matte finishes in colors to complement the season’s fashion.”

OPI Oz The Great And Powerful Collection Swatches & Review

Hey everyone, I'm back. Thank you for all the wonderful comments, it means a lot to me. I'm still coping but I'm feeling better.

Today I have OPI's Oz The Great and Powerful Collection to share with you guys. I didn't get a chance to watch this movie yet, but I really wanted to. This collection is OPI's Soft Shades Collection for 2013, and I really love this collection.

Glints of Glinda is a sheer peachy beige. This was 3 coats.

Don't Burst My Bubble is a sheer pinkish white. This was 3 coats, and you can see that there's still visible nail lines.

I Theodora You is a baby pink creme. This was 3 coats, and this is the most opaque shade from the collection.

What Wizardry is This? is a brownish gold sand. 2 coats. This one is very shimmery compared to the sand finish polishes from Mariah Carey's collection.

What Wizardry is This? with top coat and it brings out the shimmer even more.

When Monkey's Fly! is gold and silver and holographic glitters in clear base. It was quite hard fishing out the hex glitters out of the bottle, but I eventually got some on the brush.

Which is Witch? is holographic small bar and hex glitters in clear base. This combo makes a really cute look!

Lights of Emerald City is a square white glitter and iridescent small square glitters. This is by far the most unique glitter I've ever seen. And I love it over I Theodora You, I bet it looks better in over other colors too.

This collection is amazing and I really liked it. I can't choose which color I like most, and this is probably the first collection from OPI where I loved all the colors. I really love their glitter combos. The formula for these were great too. The sheer polishes weren't streaky and applied very nicely. I'm super satisfied with this collection and I'm quite happy that OPI is making such nice glitter top coats.

Well this is all I have for today, what do you think of this collection?

Dogs Are A Girl's Best Friend

Hello everyone. Today's post is not nail polish related. Today's post is a dedication to my best friend, my baby, Bebe. She passed away on March 31st 2013 at the age of 12. I am torn and devastated so I won't be posting reviews for awhile. Those who own pets and/or have lost a love ones know how I feel. It's going to take a long time to heal.

Bebe has been with our family since 2001. We got her when she was only 2 months old puppy. My father picked her out. We raised and took care of her, and she became the most smartest and most well behaved dog I've ever known. She never destroyed anything in the house except for a few chairs when she was teething. She was very well house trained. She was the most happiest dog alive; spoiled to the max with treats, clothes, and new beds every year.

She was always happy, until the time when my father passed away, she stayed by the door waiting for him to come home. And when he never came home, she gave up and slept on his side of the bed with my mom. She loved my father very much and I am sure she missed him a lot.

She made us laugh and smile even when we are down. She always knew how to put a smile on our faces. Always running around the house like a maniac, or chasing her tail  until she gets dizzy. She's a silly dog and she loves being silly because she knew it would make us laugh.

She always enjoyed joy rides, sticking her head out the window and sticking her tongue out (why do dogs love that?!) We never went anywhere without her. She loves going to Petco, make a circle, let us buy her whatever she needs, and then walks out the store like she owns the world. Yup, she is ALL THAT!

She lived a good life, 12 years filled with love and passion from us. Even when we get mad at her, we can't keep our anger for longer than 5 minutes because she is so precious, and just too cute to stay mad. We are extremely blessed and lucky to have such a wonderful, loyal and compassionate dog. Now that you're gone, you're up there in heaven with daddy. May you rest in peace Bebe and know that we love you and miss you dearly. You're not here with us in presence, but our memories of you will live on forever. Dogs are a girl's best friend, not diamonds. I love you sooo much..

Rest in Peace Bebe

Forever in our hearts

Nicole by OPI Modern Family Collection Swatches & Review

Disclaimer: Product samples provided by the company/PR for my unbiased consideration.

Hey all today I have Nicole by OPI's Modern Family Collection to share with you guys! There were a lot of request for this collection and I finally have it up! I apologize for the delay! I never watched Modern Family, and I really want to but I never have the time. I heard it was a really good show too!

Candid Cameron is a dark teal shimmer. 2 coats. This is a very interesting color. I love how dark and mysterious it looks, yet it has a metallic like finish to it.

Basking in Gloria is a red purple shimmer. 2 coats. I love the subtle hints of shimmer for this one.

A Phil's Paradise is a pewter shimmer. 2 coats. This is a beautiful shimmer! Sometimes I love wearing pewter shade jewelry so I really like this one!

Back in My Gloria Days is a vibrant violet shimmer. 2 coats. I'm not really a huge fan of purple shimmers, but I really liked this one. It's so vibrant and gorgeous.

What's the Mitch-uation? is a dark blue shimmer. 2 coats. It appears like a blurple in my picture  because it does have a very slight duo-chrome affect for this one.

I Do De-Claire is a light pink frost. 2 coats. This one shows visible brush strokes, and I can honestly say I am not a huge fan of this color. It just doesn't appeal to me.

Haley Good Lookin' is a pink glitter with holo hex glitter in a clear base. Here is one coat over I Do De-Claire. This is not a unique glitter, as we have seen a lot of pink glitters around.

My Jay or the Highway is a nude beige creme. 2 coats. Actually it looks a bit taupey. It's not your typical nude beige creme.

Luke of the Draw is a different sized silver glitters in a black jelly base. 3 coats. This one is packed with silver glitters in a variety of sizes. I love that it's in a black jelly base too!

A Like-Haley Story is a fuchsia pink creme with very slight hints of shimmer. 2 coats. This one is perfect for Spring and I love the hints of shimmer in this one. Very girly and cute.

Stand by Your Manny is a baby blue creme with silver specks. 2 coats. I should've done 3 coats for this one as you can see that it is a bit sheer. I like the baby blue for this, it's almost a periwinkle but not really.

Am I Making Myself Claire? is a muted lilac creme. 2 coats. I love how 'dusty' this looks, it leans toward the pink side.

She's Lily Something is a pink/purple shimmer with star glitters. Here I did one coat over A Like-Haley Story. The stars were a little difficult to fish out.

Alex by the Books is a mint green creme. 2 coats. Just a typical pastel mint green creme.

The formula for these were good, I didn't have any issues with application. I thought most of the colors were unique and never seen before but there were also some colors that are boring. I really liked Candid Cameron and A Phil's Paradise, those two were probably my favorites.

Overall, this collection is nice. It makes me want to watch Modern Family even more now.

What do you guys think of this collection?

China Glaze Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away Collection Swatches & Review

Hi everyone. I am sincerely sorry for the lack of posts and reviews. I am finally back as part time for work and now I definitely will have more time (unless something else decides to come up) But I do hope that I will be getting back to writing reviews like I used to.

Anyways, today I have China Glaze's Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away Collection to share with you guys. I know this collection came out months ago, I've been meaning to do a review for it sooner, but just didn't get to it. I really wanted to go see this movie, but since I've been so busy, I never got a chance to.

It's a Trap-eze is a light  milky purple base with multicolored glitters in variety of sizes. 3 coats. I cannot stop staring at this one. It's almost 3D like!

Get Carried Away is a sheer black base with black glitter, hex glitter, bar glitter, and red and silver hex glitters. 3 coats. Oops should've done this one over black or something. I didn't expect it to be sheer. I do love the black glitter though!

Water You Waiting For is a dark blue jelly like base with blue and green glitters in variety of sizes. 3 coats. This one was very gritty and required two coats of top coat. It reminded me a little of Dorothy Who? but this one has green glitter in it.

Escaping Reality is a hot pink creme. 2 coats. My goodness.. look at that glow! Totally love hot neon like colors.

Surreal Appeal is a coral pink creme. 2 coats. It's a very girly shade, but it's very spring like as well.

Def Defying  is a yellowy green creme. 2 coats. This is quite interesting. I thought it was going to be similar to Electric Pineapple, but this one is more green and Electric Pineapple is more yellow.

Running in Circles is a green base glitter with flashes of gold. 2 coats. OK my picture definitely did not do this polish any justice. This polish has to be seen in person to appreciate its beauty. It is so hard to capture on camera!

Hanging in the Balance is  a bright blue creme. 2 coats. This one is one serious bright polish. It looks a bit washed out in my picture, but in person this polish almost glows like a neon.

Creative Fantasy is a royal purple creme. 3 coats. OK I am in love with this color. It is the perfect royal purple creme. Only one issue is that it applies so weird!! This is three coats and it still appears a little sheer. I didn't want to do a 4th coat because that would look extremely thick. I just wish the formula was better for this one, as it could've been my favorite.

Bend Over Backwards is a deep red shimmer with flashes of orange. 2 coats. This is a nice red, but I'm more fond of red cremes than red shimmers.

Igniting Love is a bright red creme. 2 coats. Now these are the reds I am in love with, bright perfect red.

Whirled Away over Escaping Reliaty. 3-4 coats? Whirled away is a clear bas with black hex and bar glitters, and white large hex glitters. Very interesting combination of sizes and color. Just wish it wasn't so hard to fish out of the bottle to apply on the nails.

The formula for this collection were good, a few issues with some but nothing too big or hard to deal with. My favorite definitely is It's a Trap-eze. I just love the milky light purple base and the multicolored glitters just pops. Overall I am quite satisfied with this collection. There are a few colors that are not unique, but some reason when I see them I feel that there's a pop of color to these polishes. I wasn't going to purchase this whole collection, but somehow I just couldn't resists myself. I did regret buying some but it's OK :)

Well this is all I have for today! Which one was your favorite?
