OPI Miss Universe 2013 Swatches & Review

Hello everybody, I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend. Today I have OPI's Miss Universe 2013 to share with you guys. This collection consists of 3 polishes, two cremes, one one glitter.

I'm Feeling Sashy is a muted lilac creme. 2 coats

Miss You-niverse is a dark plume. 2 coats. Could've easily gotten away with just one coat!

This Gown Needs a Crown is a silver glitter with a satiny finish. 2 coats. Should've used three for full coverage, and please ignore the little smudge on my index finger. I did not realize that until I uploaded my photos..lol

The formula for these were amazing, so smooth and creamy. They all applied flawlessly with no problems whatsoever. I really like the two creme colors as well, felt that it matches the fall season perfectly. Who's ready to see who's gonna be crowned Miss Universe??

Well that is all for today, I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Sundays!

OPI Designer Series featuring DS Raw Granite

Good morning everybody! Happy Friday! Today I have two new OPI DS shades to share with you. These two new DS shades are textured polishes inspired by granite, and they dry matte with a slight texture.

DS Pewter is a metallic pewter grey base with a lot of different sized silver glitters. 2 coats. This sure does remind me a granite rock! (the science nerd in me comes out!)

DS Lapis is a deep sapphire blue with blue and silver glitters. 2 coats. This one have finer glitters than Pewter so it doesn't look as chunky. My index and middle finger are with top coats, while the ring and pink are without.

The formula for these two ran a little thick. Pewter was a little tough to apply and to get the glitters to stay on the nail. I guess I have to be patient and to let it dry in between coats. DS Lapis was a little easier to apply. I like the two colors, but I still miss the old DS collection with the holos. I would do anything for those to return!

What do you think of these two polishes?

OPI Pink of Hearts 2013 Swatches & Review

As we all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Each year OPI always come out with a Pink of Hearts collections. This year it came with one pink polish and one matte glitter polish, along with pink ribbon nail decals.

Pink-ing of You is a baby pink creme. 2 coats

More Than a Glimmer is a matte multi-colored big glitters, with silver small glitters on a clear matte base. Here I did one coat over Pink-ing of You. This reminds me a little of Deborah Lippmann's Candy Shop, but it's definitely not the same. I love the matte look of this without having to apply matte top coat.

Pink-ing of You looks really similar to last years pink from the Pink of Hearts collection, but the highlight of this set is definitely More Than a Glimmer. I would get the set just to have the glitter. The only downside was that the formula was a little thick, but since I used this as a 'top coat' it didn't really cause too much issues.

So what do you think of this set? A definite must have or a definite pass?

OPI San Francsico Collection Swatches & Review

Good morning everyone! It's October already and it's starting to get chilly here. I really don't like the cold, but this calls for Fall collections! There are a lot of collections out there that I am very excited about. Today I have OPI's San Francisco Collection to share with you guys. This collection consists of 12 colors and 3 liquid sand polishes. Let's have a look.

A-Piers to be Tan is a caramel brown creme. 2 coats. Very interesting shade of brown, which is perfect for Autumn.

Dining Al Frisco is a sky blue shimmer with a semi-frost finish. 2 coats. This is a rather interesting color for a fall collection, however I guess it reminds us of the clear blue skies even when it's cold.

Haven't the Foggiest is a dark silver shimmer. 2 coats

Peace & Love & OPI is a grey base duochrome with flashes of blue and purple. 2 coats. Very gorgeous duochrome.

Keeping Suzi at Bay is a blue creme. 2 coats. This one is not vibrant enough to be considered a cobalt blue, but it's also not dark enough to be a navy, I would say it is somewhere in between.

Incognito in Sausalito is a dark navy blue creme. 2 coats

Lost on Lombard is a dark red creme. 2 coats.

I Knead Sour-Dough is a brownish red with red shimmers. 2 coats. Quite a unique color.

Muir Muir on the Wall is a dark plum with reddish shimmers. 2 coats. This one is very pretty!

In the Cable Car-Pool Lane is a dark berry creme. 2 coats. My picture shows it lighter than it is in person for some reason. It might be the lighting, but it also can be the setting of my camera since I lent it to my mom when she went on vacation.

Embarca-Dare Ya! is a magenta shimmer. 2 coats. Very intense color.

First Date at the Golden Gate is a red creme. 2 coats

It's All San Andrea's Fault is a taupe brown liquid sand. 2 coats. I really love the finish look on this one.

Wharf! Wharf! Wharf! is a blue liquid sand. 2 coats. My god I cannot get over how gorgeous this looks...

Alcatraz...Rocks is a purple base with pink and golden shimmer liquid sand. 2 coats. Ok, I cannot get over the fact about how beautiful this color is. It is by far the best liquid sand polish out there. I love the mix of shimmers in this one.

And here it is with a top coat on.

The formula for these were great. I did not have any issues with application for this collection. It all applied smoothly without any problems. The liquid sand polishes stood out the most for this collection, especially Alcatraz...Rocks, that one was definitely my favorite one; then comes Wharf! There were certain colors that stood out, but there are a lot of similar colors we've seen before.

Overall, I am satisfied with the collection. I definitely feel that Alcatraz is a must have nail polish. It looks beautiful with or without top coat.

So what do you guys think of this collection? Which are your favorite?

Highlights from the collection include a bold red lacquer that pays homage to Gwen’s signature lipstick, a new semi-matte satin finish in shades of gold and black, and a mirrored chrome paired with a special base coat.
Inspired by the 2013 Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala that featured the theme “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” OPI Executive VP and Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann decided to create a collection of lacquer celebrating the role of music as a major influence in fashion. “With her expertise as a singer, songwriter and designer, who better to collaborate with than Gwen Stefani?” asks Weiss-Fischmann. “Known for her trademark red lips, bold eye makeup and nail art, Gwen uses beauty to accessorize her style.”
Gwen’s signature red OPI hue – Over & Over A-Gwen – is available in a boxed set, which includes Swarovski black crystals and silver, gold and pewter studs in bar, square, diamond and circle shapes for creating unique nail designs, as well as nail glue for easy application. Push and Shove, a bold chrome hue, is also worn without top coat but requires a special complimentary base coat – Lay Down that Base. One thin coat of Lay Down that Base topped with two thin coats of Push and Shove yields an intense, mirrored finish. The collection is rounded out with two glossy crème lacquers and one sparkly glitter shade: Hey Baby, I Sing in Color, and In True Stefani Fashion.
OPI wanted to create a collection as dramatic, diverse and glamorous as its namesake,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “With crème and glitter hues, new satin matte texture, a mirrored chrome and SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, Gwen Stefani by OPI presents the latest in pigments and finishes, while combining elements of haute couture and street fashion.”

Four Polishes from Nicole by OPI Tink Collection

Greetings all. Today I have four polishes from the Nicole by OPI Tink Collection to share with you guys. I only have four because samples ran out for the other two, and I've searched high and low for the other two and couldn't find them. The Tink Collection is indeed inspired by the Disney fairy, Tinkerbell! I absolutely love Tinkerbell. I have this Swarovski necklace of Tinkerbell, and it is by far my favorite necklace.

Fairy Fairy Quite Contrary is a bright orange creme. 2 coats. It seems a little toned down on my picture, but this is actually a bright orange in person.

Tink's in the Pink is a bright pink creme. 2 coats. This one applied nicely, it looks more like a rose pink, but this one has a slight neon tone to it. Much brighter in person. I think my camera is having trouble capturing brights. Time for a new camera maybe?!

Sweet on Pete is a chartreuse green. 2 coats. This is pretty much a yellow green creme. If you take a yellow green crayon out of the box it's exactly what it looks like. I really like this one! It's different and unique, not your everyday color. This one applied very nicely.

Half-Charming Half-Alarming is a orange red creme. 2 coats. I really liked this one. I'm really into the orange red/red orange cremes lately and this one matches the color perfectly. This one applied very nicely.

The application for these were well off perfect. I had no issues with application for all of them. They all only needed two coats for full coverage. The colors were interesting and a few were unique and a few we seen before. But overall, I am satisfied with the collection and I am glad to see that they are making more Disney inspired polishes out there! I'm a huge Disney freak. :)

OPI Neon Revolution Mini Set

Continuing with my neon posts. I have another mini kit to share with you today. This one is from OPI called Neon Revolution. This kit includes 4 mini neon colors, one white base, and one top coat.

 OPI Neon Revolution Mini Kit

Don't Say It-Yellow is a bright yellow creme. 2 coats over white. This yellow was quite bright, but it wasn't really a neon yellow. I still liked it though!

The Time is Pow is a bright neon orange creme. 2 coats over white. This one is extremely bright and the picture does not do this justice. It's quite blinding.

Pink Outside the Box is a bright neon pink creme. 2 coats over white. Another one that is not captured by the camera. The color is more bright in person, and very neon-ish.

Blue It Out of Proportion is a bright blue creme over white. 3 coats over white. Ugh! Why are the blue neons giving me such a hard time?! Why are they so sheer? Why are they so beautiful on the bottle and not on the nails? If this one covered the white evenly I would've loved this color.

The kit was cute, and I liked the neon colors. This kit was a little better than Nicole by OPI neon kits. At least 3 out of 4 had good coverage. Application was also easier; I didn't really have much trouble with the white base. My favorite is definitely Don't Say It-Yellow, it's super bright and super blinding. Colors aren't all that unique, but it's still a cute mini kit for a gift.

Overall, I am ok with this collection. Wished they had more varieties.
