Matte American Manicure / Future Swatches

So I've been dealing with an American manicure for the past 4 weeks. Just one more week to go and I will be able to do all these crazy swatching. I received more goodies in the mail. I've decide to try matte on the American manicure. I have yet to see one, and I'm curious as to how it will look like. And I must say.. it looks.... interesting?

I've use the same polishes I used last time; Essie Mademoiselle as base, Essie Marshmellow for tips, and Essie Pink Glove Service as top coat. This is the neatest manicure I have ever done.

And here it is in matte. It looks kind of "ghostly" if you understand what I'm saying. But it's quite unique in a way. I don't know..what do you guys think?

And of course, here are MORE pictures of future swatches. I know you're as excited as I am!

OPI Matte collection

Nubar Modern Matte Collection

Nubar Moon Shadow, Pasadena Purple, and Pink Flame

My first purchases for Milani nail polishes.
Purple Passion, Totally Cool, Pink Out Loud, Breezy

My first purchases for Lippmann Collection;10th anniversary set, and Call Me Irresponsible (could this be the one purple creme I've been looking for?!)

And alas, my favorite purchases of all:

Essie Ruby Slippers and Viva La Vespa

As much as I don't want to admit, I bought these off eBay. Once I saw it, I gotta have it. I didn't have to pay a lot extra for these. They were at a decent price (Ruby Slippers was $15, and Viva La Vespa was $13). I mean I spent $23 on designer nail polishes that I will probably never wear again, so why not spend a tad extra on polishes I REALLY want and know I will wear again, agree?

Now, I will complete my goal if I can get my hands Essie Starry Starry Night. I really hope Essie will re-release it again, but I highly doubt it.

Well that is all readers, thank you for your patience on my other swatches. I still haven't received my other purchases yet so I can't take pics to show you the exciting new colors. Until next time. <3

OPI Love Me Tender

I would like to thank those who commented on my last entry for such heartwarming and comforting words. I really appreciate it. It's not getting easier, I still miss my dad very much.

But anyways..

Those who knew me, knew I wanted OPI Love Me Tender awhile ago। I don't know if it's the name or just my passion for peachy shimmers (such as Nars Orgasm, China Glaze Rox-e) I found it on amazon।com for retail price so I decided to get it.

I am glad I did because I absolutely adore this color. It is so gorgeous and simple. The tiny gold flickles on it made me love it even more. Although there are plenty of nail polishes I want (NARS Zulu, Essie Starry Starry Night, Essie Ruby Slippers) I'm glad I got my hands on this one. There is no way I'll find all those discontinued colors, so all I can do is try and find dupes or ebay :(

So this was done in three coats, the application was flawless. Applies on smoothly and not streaky at all.

I'm glad I got this nail polish, because hey! At least I found one nail polish on my "going crazy to have" nail polish list. Puahaha.

Hope everyone's day is filled with joy and happiness and lots of pretty polishes ;)

Nubar Pastel Collection Part I / New Polishes

Hi all, first off let me apologize for the lack of update..
----
My father, at the age of 56 passed away recently. It was unexpected, therefore my family and I are truly devastated. How come the good die young? During the past week it was the hardest week of my life; the chapel, the funeral, saying the last good-bye. I've never cried so much before. It hurts so much to know that he's gone. I love him so much, and I miss him dearly...Rest in Peace Daddy<3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_r_cQEq06Pfo/Sl5W-cIqrOI/AAAAAAAAAbQ/r-Rw5FO1EpU/s1600-h/nubar+ohbabypink.jpg">
Oh Baby Pink! - I guess it's true to it's name. It's a baby pink but slightly deeper pink than the other one. This kind of reminds me of OPI Make Love. Very similar. This took only 2 coats and a top coat of course.

Once again, I am obsessed with matte now. It makes the nail polishes just look so vibrant. I love it!

Baby Pink - A lighter baby pink. this one took 3 coats because it was slightly streaky, but didn't cause much problem. I didn't really like this one because, my skin is pretty dark, so this one looked kinda weird on me. =X

Orange Cream - An orange cream, I don't think I have any colors like this. A pastel orange cream. It looks really unique and cute I'd say. This one took 3 coats, two coats would've done the job but I like 3 coat hehe.

Lavendar - This was my favorite so far of the collection. It is a lavendar cream. Very opaque, took only two coats.

And of course I have to see how it looks in matte right? Look how pretty it looks!

Baby Blue - How many baby blues do I have? I know I say I get sick of the same colors over and over again, but I'm starting to like baby blue again. Especially this one. It just seems more alive than all other baby blues.

And this one was my favorite in matte. It's just really gorgeous!

And here are my recent hauls, that I didn't get to do swatches on yet..

BB Couture Hot Rod Collection

Can't wait to try these gorgeous shades. This is the newest collection from BB Couture, and may be purchased at Overall Beauty.

And also my love for BB Couture nail polish has grew! Can't wait to get the other set of BB Couture nail polishes that I won from Mary on Body and Soul! If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you're missing out. She updates a lot with many great nail polishes.

Nubar Go Greener Collection

Also to swatch:
-Nubar Modern Matte Collection
-Zoya Truth or Dare Collection
-China Glaze Retro Diva Collection
-A few polishes from Lippmann Collection
-OPI Matte collection
-New Sephora Collection
- Random OPI & Color Club hauls

I've purchased A LOT of nail polishese that past few days. Good luck paying the bills Gladys! Haha, it's ok tho cause I believe they're all worth it!

Also, I need to make a note. As Chinese traditions goes, we have to pay respect to our loved ones that passed away. We are not allow to wear nail polish for at least a month. Therefore, I won't be doing these swatches for awhile. I have a few old swatches that I didn't get to post yet, so those will be my updates while the month pass. The only manicure I can give myself is a French/American manicure. Good enough.

So that is all for today, I hope it was enough to fill up my missing updates. I hope everyone have a wonderful evening!

Saturday, July 11, 2009

I know it's been a week since I've updated. I have pictures of my swatches all ready but I've been really busy lately. Especially with some issues going on at home. But stay tune, I will update shortly, give me about 2 days! :)

July 4th Mani

Hi! Happy Independence Day to those who celebrate it! Just a quick post of my July 4th mani before I head out! I took this with my webcam because I just finished it (11:20 PM) and it's the only picture I can get!

I used Misa On the Edge, top with a konad star design, with China Glaze Tinsel

And here's a close up with it.

It isn't all that great because it was a rushed mani. I hope everyone have fun today!!

EDIT 7/4/09

Here are better pictures:

And of course, I couldn't help but to satisfy my new obsession with Nubar V for Men Matte top coat. The stars are more visible with matte.

Happy 4th of July!
