Essie Resort 2011 Collection Swatches and Review

Hi lovelies! Last day of August! For those who have been following me on Twitter, I've started my new job (don't worry still part time, I'll still have time to blog and swatch!). It's been great so far, I'm loving the new environment and the new people. And I feel like 10,000 lbs lighter after quitting my previous job. Hopefully this one won't be as stressful as the other!

Anyways, today I have Essie's Resort 2011 collection to share with you guys. This collection consists of four colors, 3 shimmers and 1 creme. Take a look.

Lion Around is a rosey mauvey pink with a pearly finish. 2 coats

Fair Game is a blue toned silver shimmer. It has a semi metallic finish. 2 coats

Da Bush is a grey green creme. 2 coats. My favorite of the collection. It's gorgeous!

Your Hut or Mine is a a salmon pink with hints of pink and orange shimmer. 2 coats.

The formula for these were typical Essie polish formula. Applied smoothly and flawlessly. I never seem to have any complaints for Essie polishes, maybe that's why I always buy them! This collection is quite interesting, the colors that is. Da Bush is absolutely gorgeous. I love it. Lion Around is such an innocent looking pink, and even Fair Game is quite unique. I can't say much about Your Hut or Mine. I'm not a big fan of salmon pinks.

Did you guys get any of the colors? What did you think of this collection??

SpaRitual Enlightened Soul

Today I have SpaRitual's Enlightened Soul from the Spring 2011 collection to share with you guys. Yes I know it's Summer, but it's ok :)

Enlightened Soul is a bright yellow creme. 2 coats

This is like an awesome yellow. It reminds me of Crayola yellow crayon. Application was surprisingly smooth. It wasn't streaky at all. The formula was a little thick but nothing too hard to work with (I've tried thicker formula) Even though this is from the Spring collection, I think it's perfect for Summer. And come to think of it, Summer is almost over :(

Well that's all I have for today. What do you guys think of this one?

Edit: For all you east coast people, I hope you stay safe from Hurricane Irene. I hope the storm won't hit NY hard =/

OPI Touring America Fall 2011 Collection Reviewe

Good morning all! Today I have OPI's Touring America Collection for Fall 2011 to share with you guys. This is quite an interesting color with an interesting theme. Some of the polishes are quite funny as well. Have a look!

Are We There Yet? is a peachy coral creme with slight shimmer. 2 coats. This is quite a pretty color, my picture might not make it look much but it's great for the Fall. It's not bright, but bright enough. If you get what I'm saying.

A-Taupe the Space Needle is a taupe creme. 2 coats. I kind of like this kind of color.

Color to Diner For is a cranberry red shimmer. 2 coats. A very interesting red, it's not vibrant which I kinda like.

Honk If You Love OPI is a dark purple creme. 2 coats. Now if I saw a sign like that on the road, I'd be honking all day!

Get in the Expresso Lane is a brown creme. 2 coats. I don't really drink espressos, matter of fact I don't think I ever tried espresso. I'm not a coffee person I guess. (and I totally typed expresso, until I got a spell check lol -_- *slaps forehead)

French Quarter for Your Thoughts is a light gray creme. 2 coats. Seen too many gray's lately that it just doesn't do it for me. I still like it though.

I Brake for Manicures is a smokey plum creme. 2 coats. A very nice color for fall.

I Eat Mainely Lobster is a bright coral with pink and gold shimmers. 2 coats. The thoughts of Maine lobsters is making my mouth water. I so want lobster now :(

My Address is "Hollywood" is a dusty rosey creme with light shimmer. 2 coats. Not my cup of tea, but I guess it's a cute color to wear. It's more of a salmon pink, but the more I look at it the more confused I get on what it's true color is.

Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window is a murky olive green. 2 coats. Omg LOL at the name. It is like the perfect name for this polish too haha Am I the only one who thinks it's funny? =x

Suzi Takes the Wheel is a grayish green creme. 2 coats. Every time I hear this name, the song "Jesus Takes the Wheel" comes in my head lol

Road House Blues is a a gorgeous indigo blue creme. 2 coats. Some reason my picture makes it appear purple, its more blue in person. It frustrates me when a gorgeous color cannot be captured in pictures.

I have a few favorites for this collection. I really like Road House Blues, Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window, A-Taupe the Space Needle, and Are We There Yet? The formula for these were awesome as always. It wasn't thick or thin and worked perfectly well during application.

I'm glad to see only one red in this collection. I love it when polish brands don't make there colors mainly red. It's like isn't one red creme enough? Sorry to all you red fans out there =X

I do, however, like this collection because it's different from their usual fall collections.

What did you think of this collection? What are your favorites?

(These were sent to me for review)

Sephora by OPI Spark-tacular! Top Coat

Good morning all! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. Next thing you know it's Monday soon :(

Today is me and my boyfriend's 4 year anniversary. I decided to do my nails with Sephora by OPI Spark-tacular Top Coat over white. And I must say, it looks quite festive, exactly what I had in mind!

Spark-tacular! Top Coat is a clear base with multicolored glitters in various sizes. We have tiny glitters and then we have hex glitters, all the glitters are in different colors, which makes this amazing. This was 2 coats over white.

It's like a little sister to Lippmann's Happy Birthday. The glitters are more dense and a little less vibrant, it's soft to the eyes. I really like how this one turned out! Glitters are smooth after applying one coat of top coat. I haven't removed them yet so I'm not too sure if these are gonna be tough to remove. I'm hoping it won't be.

I can't really say much about the formula being that it's a top coat really. But it was a little watered down and running, but nothing too hard to work with. I let each finger dry for 1-2 minutes before applying the second, this usually avoids the balding of the glitters.

Well that's all I have for today. What do you guys think of Spark-tacular? Do you love it just as much as I do?

Revlon Just Tinted Victorian

Hi guys! A quick post before I leave the house! I have completed my goal with posting EVERY DAY for the past week. I am super proud of myself. I really hope I can keep this up. I still have a lot of swatches to do and share with you guys! So please stay tune. I owe it to my readers for not updating as often lately!

I have Revlon's Just Tinted in Victorian to share with you guys. I found this at Rite Aid while browsing around.

Victorian is a sheer medium pink. This was done in four coats. I think these were meant to be worn as sheer, since the name is called "Just Tinted" but it looked a little weird with just one coat. It seem like I have stained pink nails or something.

I didn't put a top coat over this one just to see how it dries out. It seems like a semi-matte finish. The drying time was quite annoying. I tend to have that problem with Revlon polishes, I don't know if it's just me. And being that it's four coats it took a really long time, and smudged before I even got the chance to take a picture of it with a top coat. It applied pretty well though.

Well that's all I have for today, I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!!

ORLY Pin-Up Collection 2011

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is almost here, hang in there!

Today I have ORLY's Pin-Up collection to share with you guys. This collection consists of two pink cremes and two sparkly glitters. I should've think twice about buying the pinks but whatever, doesn't hurt to spend a little to do swatches and reviews for you guys :)

Va Va Voom is a bright hot pink creme. 2 coats. It's not a neon pink, but it does dry matte. My photo makes it look like a plain pink creme.

Conquette Cutie is a coral pink creme. 2 coats. I had slight problems with this one. It wasn't applying as smooth as the other one.

Bubbly Bombshell is a purple glitter. 3 coats. Wow is this gorgeous or what?! It's with a clear base, but fully opaque with three coats. I love how sparkly it is and I also love the vibrant purple.

Here Comes Trouble is a green glitter. 3 coats. This one is also with a clear base but opaque with three coats. It's a mix with tiny glitters and big glitters as well.

Now the formula for these were in between. The cremes I had a little problem with, but the glitters applied perfectly. I let it each finger dry one minute after each coat to avoid 'balding' of the glitters.

The glitters weren't hard to remove (surprisingly). But the two glitters happen to be my favorites of the whole collection. Like I mentioned, I wasn't too fond of the pinks. I mean, I love all things glitter and sparkly :)

What did you guys think of this collection?

Sinful Colors Seaweed and Adventure Island

So today I have two Sinful Colors to share with you guys. I found these at Rite Aid and the whole collection seems to be like OPI Pirates of Caribbean dupe. I should look more into Sinful Color polishes. They are decent priced and the formula is not bad at all.

Adventure Island is a yellow green creme. 2 coats

Seaweed is a murky green creme. 2 coats

Seaweed looks quite similar to OPI Skulls & Glossbones except Seaweed has more green to it than Skulls & Glossbones. They're not exact dupes that's for sure.

As I mentioned, Sinful Colors formula are pretty good. I didn't have any issues with these two. They applied well, and was opaque in two coats. I hope they come up with more great colors in the future!

Essie Wedding Collection 2011

I am sticking my goal to having a post every day for this whole week, and so far I'm doing good. I'm tired of having all these backed up photos waiting to be posted. And then I get so far behind that I post summer swatches when Fall comes. That happened to me last year and I refuse to do that again!

So anyways, today I have the Essie Wedding collection to share. It consists of four polishes, 2 sheers, and 2 cremes.

First Dance is a gorgeous red creme. 2 coats

Better Together is a sheer light pink creme. 3 coats

Made to Honor is a sheer nude-ish pink jelly. 3 coats

Borrowed & Blue is a very light baby blue creme. 3 coats

I'm not a huge fan of red polishes, but it has slowly grown on me. As for First Dance, I actually really like the way it looks on my skin tone. I can't really choose a favorite because I really like Borrowed & Blue as well. So I feel it's a tie between them. As for the sheers, I don't really have a problem with them. I just feel they're a little too plain for my taste. But since I got a new job now, and for this job, it is very important on the way we present ourselves, therefore I can't really do all these crazy colors anymore. But it's OK, I'll wear the crazy colors on my days off :)

The formula for these were great. They didn't give any streaking problems at all. Applied very evenly with no fuss. That's what I like about Essie polishes. They never tend to be streaky at all. I tend to buy all Essie collections, even when I don't like the color that much. I think I should stop on that, being that I am on a budget -_-

Well that's all I have for today!

Nicole by OPI Something About Spring Target Exclusives

Today I have Nicole by OPI Something About Spring; four additional shades exclusively for Target. I don't have the original shades that launched in March. Take a look at them:

It's Not Me, It's Blue is a periwinkle/purple shimmer. 2 coats.

I Love You Cherry Much is a bright cherry red shimmer. 2 coats

Green Up Your Act is described by OPI as an olive green creme. But it's more of a gray-toned green. This was done in 2 coats.

Sounds Grape To Me is a burgundy shimmer. 2 coats. Super gorgeous.

The formula for these were excellent. However, Nicole by OPI polishes now have new brushes. They're wider, which is good, but I also feel like they're a little short as well. It kind of reminds me of the Sally Hansen brushes. I'm not a big fan of those because I tend to always have problems applying them. Although I didn't have much fuss applying these, they went on smoothly. I love the shimmers in Sounds Grape to Me, and It's Not Me, It's Blue. It's super packed with shimmer. My favorite happens to be It's Not Me, It's Blue.

What do you think of this collection?

Some New Sally Hansens

Good morning! Today is all about Sally Hansen. I got these about a month or two ago but never got to try them. I got four from the Complete Salon Manicure, and one from Hard As Nails. Let's have a look!

Camelia is a sheer pink jelly. 4 coats. As you can see it is quite sheer, being that I applied four coats and there's still visible nail lines.

Barracuda is a pastel baby blue creme. 2 coats. Funny story about this one. I looked all over for this one but every drug store I went to seems to ran out of it. My friend went on vacation to Florida, and went into a Walgreens for some products and she found it for me. So this bottle came all the way from Florida to New York!

Strike a Pose is a sheer pearl iridescent shimmer with flashes of blue. 3 coats. I didn't get to experiment with this one yet, but I have a feeling it will look gorgeous for layering.

Eel Skin is a light gray creme. 2 coats

Ice Queen over Eel Skin. Ice Queen is a clear base with silver glitter and blue and pink hex glitters. I did one coat over Eel Skin. Maybe it would've looked better over a silver base instead of gray.

The formulas for these were flawless. I didn't have any issues with them at all. They applied evenly and smoothly with no streaks at all. Even though we have seen plenty of pastel baby blue cremes around, I actually really like Barracuda. It stands out.

Did any of you purchase the new Sally Hansens?
